Movies For The Week Of October 31, 2025

Anniversary – Releasing in Limited Theaters

As a nation deals with a controversial movement called “The Change” a family lead by Ellen and Paul, played by Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler, begin to witness their life fall apart while tensions rise and their loyalties are tested.

It’s an interesting story, but I don’t know if it will be a bit overtaxing considering what’s going on in the world.

Dorothea – Releasing in Limited Theaters

Based on the true crime story of Dorothea Puente, played by Susan Priver, who is a granny. During the story Dorothea Puente lures in the vulnerable and kills without remorse. Be warry of what secrets she has buried in her garden.

This reminds me of Serial Mom, but a true story and based on a real grandmother. If you want a dark story, something for Halloween, then this one might fit the bill.

Self-Help – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A young woman, played by Landry Bender, infiltrates a dangerous self-actualization community after her mother becomes entangled with its enigmatic leader.

If you are interested in cult stories, or thriller dramas then this film might be a good one for you to watch this week.

Stitch Head – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Stitch Head, voiced by Asa Butterfield, is a strange person made up of bits and pieces. He keeps his castle, and the monsters hidden between it, safe from the town of Grubbers Nubbin. However, when a freak show comes to town, the owner thinks he has found his next star!

If you are a fan of animated films, and need a family friendly halloween themed film this year, then this is a great option for you! It also feels a little bit like a call back to stories like Casper.

Violent Ends – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Lucas Frost, played by Billy Magnussen, is the only honest man in a crime family filled with a legacy of violence. However, as Lucas attempts to avoid the criminal world of the Ozark Mountains with his new fiancée, Emma, he is pulled back into the family business.

If you like crime thrillers, or films like a History of Violence, then this film might be a good watch this week. A violent and active story set in an interesting place.
