Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of March 18, 2022

As we prepare for the opening of theaters and the return to normal life practices, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. Until then though, if you do go to a theater make sure it has a policy of requiring attendees to wear masks, and sit in isolated groups out of proximity of other viewers.

Jack, played by Ryan Kwanten, is a mercenary who after meeting a mysterious woman, begins to have his body break down. To find out what is going on, he reaches out to Dr. Bergman, played by Hugo Weaving, to see what is going wrong with him.

A high concept sci-fi film featuring one of my favorite actors from True Blood, and the ever talented Hugo Weaving. If you are looking for something to hold your attention this one looks very similar to Blade Runner from a different side of the story.

Gold – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 79%

When two drifters, played by Zac Efron and Anthony Hayes, stumble upon the largest gold nugget in history, greed shapes their future. One most go, one most stay, but can they trust one another to profit from the find.

This is a very cool experience, and I’m interested in seeing how Zac Efron performs in this film. It appears that Efron is the one who is left behind to protect it, enduring enemies and the hazards of the desert.

When Dorothy, played by Joey Ally, loses her job in the Senate, she decides to return to her conservative Texas hometown. When she arrives home, she finds out that her nemesis from her youth is running for state legislature. She decides to change political parties and run against him to force the Republicans to lose the election.

If you like political comedies, then this one should cause a chuckle, but might be difficult due to the fact of how politically devisive the world has become over the last decard plus.

The Outfit – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 92%

Whe Leonard, played by Mark Rylance, finds himself caught between a group of mobsters, this tailor will have to outwit the group to be able to survive through the night.

If you are looking for a thriller drama this week, reviews are in on this film, and while it is quite the thinker of a film, it has been well loved by critics. The acting is apparently amazing and the story is engaging.

Panama – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

Near the end of the 80s Panama was on the brink of being invaded. Before hell can break loose, a CIA operative, played by Mel Gibson, hires former marine Becker, played by Cole Hauser, to complete a top secret arms trade. Can Becker complete his mission, or is he in over his head.

Not everyone is a fan of Mel Gibson, but to be fair the movie mostly focuses on Cole Hauser as he engages in a thriller action adventure. If you like spy movies, then this film will scratch your itch this week.
