Movies Releasing For The Week of January 18

We are back for another week. Ready to get my … Interesting take on movies?

Here is what movies are coming out tomorrow, and if we suggest you watching them.

Adult Life Skills – Releasing 01/18/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 74%

Anna, played by Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker, is about a woman approaching her 30’s, who lives in her Mom’s garden shed and refuses to grow up after the loss of someone close to her. Her mother pushes her to move on with her life, and it starts events that helps her find a reason to keep moving forward.

This movie is very heartwarming. It has a lot of the same feelings that existed in Hugh Dancy’s Adam. That being said, this film takes you on a journey, and makes you feel things. Highly recommend.

Don’t Come Back From The Moon – Releasing 01/18/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

All the men of a desert town walk out on their families. Leaving the children of the town with outlit or method to move past their feelings, the children act out with criminal actions. This forces the children to eventually deal with their emotions, by finding new ways to love and form family connections in the wake of their fathers decisions.

This is a heavy film. Winner of the 2017 LA Film Festival’s Special Mention for Directing, this is a movie to watch, but be prepared to watch a heavy and thought provoking movie. If you’ve been abandoned, it may stir up some emotions.

Glass – Releasing 01/18/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 35%

David Dunn is in for the fight of his life, as Mr. Glass joins with the Beast to unleash a wave of distruction. However recent actions has placed super-beings in the crosshairs by a mental health practitioner who things their beliefs are the start of a new mental epidemic.

Bruce Willis as David Dunn, Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb. This movie is a long time come. Set up, and anticipated to the extreme, this film will either be a masterpeice or be the end of M. Night Shyamalan. Either way, I want a front row seat!

The Last Man – Releasing 01/18/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Kurt is a veteran. He suffers regularly from PTSD. The world he comes home to however is destructive and violent. Once he returns though he learns from a prophet, played by Harvey Keitel, that the world is about to end. A electromagnetic storm is coming and will end the world as we know it. Kurt is ready, and he plans to survive.

I stand by the fact that Hayden Christensen can act. Now he is being put to the test. The Last Man is a thriller. Not a light hearted, but not a pure action film. It’s not going to cast the biggest net, but I believe if you are looking for an ernest film, and the incorporation of PTSD, within an apocalypse film, is an interesting take.

The Standoff at Sparrow Creek – Releasing 01/18/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 72%

Gannon was retired, joined a militia and trying to make the most of his life. Unfortunately a shooter kills most of the police force and the question is, who did it. Evidence points to a member of the militia, and Gannon needs to find out who commited the act within his militiamen.

This is a quiet and passionate thriller. Do not expect a lot of explosions. There will be a lot of talking, and a lot of deep thoughtful discussions amoungst the people on screen. I can’t wait to guess which one did it though!
