Winter Fest OC is back at the Orange County fairgrounds. We wanted to check out how much of a family fun and friendly experience this is.
The experience opens up immediately as you enter into the park. To the right of the park continues the Forest of Light which includes beautiful light displays, the Polar Putt Putt, and Santa’s Village where people are able to get their family photos with the jolly old elf!
Additionally, the space with Santa includes a couple fun photo ops and games for children to play, while they check out the massive trainset!
To the left of the entrance is a food area, but it’s not the only one, as the food also continues throughout the middle of the event, and then continues even further into the Carnival section. Right next to the first food area is the Snow Play Area for the little ones which includes a much smaller sledding hill slide, an open snow play, and a really fun mini-ride where kids.
A little deeper into the area is the ice skating rink, where they have a full complement of brand new skates this year! If there are members of the family who are not good at ice skating, you can still rent a support sled for $15, that you can hold on to while you skate around the rink.
While you wait for the park to get darker so you can enjoy the majesty and beauty of all the lights there are plenty of carnival rides and games. There are also some insanely scary rides for the adrenaline seeking children and parents in attendance.
For people who arrive in the first hours of the experience, they have their five dollar samples from food vendors throughout the space! So many great options to try out so many of the vendors!
Before heading into the awesome Carnival space, full of unique and fun rides, they also have a dedicated inflatable section, which was my child’s favorite space, and the light up house and stage that hosts regular bands throughout the season.
