Movies Releasing For The Week of August 30

Bennett’s War – Releasing 08/30/19
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)
Marshall Bennett, played by Michael Roark, was discharged from the Army Rangers Motorcycle unit after surviving, but being wounded from an IED explosion. When he arrives home he finds that his father isn’t able to make mortgage payments. The only way that he can help his family fast enough is to ride again, but one more accident could cost him the ability to walk.

An interesting film designed to pull at the heart strings. But it’s hard to imagine the plot. Merging the military and motocross feels a bit forced. However if you are a motocross enthusist, this might be the right film for you.

Itsy Bitsy – Releasing 08/30/19

Kara, played by Elizabeth Roberts, is an in homecare nurse. She struggles to find work, but is lucky to finally obtain a job helping an older man in the countryside. It’s a live in position though, and she has to take her two young children with her. However, a simple job turns dangerous when a larger then normal spider causes havok.

Just when the world had gotten over Arachnophobia, this movie comes out. Mixing a bit of camp, but also a bunch of just creepy spider horror. Burn it. Burn it all down. It’s the only way to be sure. However if you are a fan of horror, you should check it out.

Killerman – Releasing 08/30/19
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)
Moe Diamond, played by Liam Hemsworth, is having a bad day. He wakes up with a ton of drugs, and money, and has no idea where it came from, or how he got there. To make matters worse, every dirty cop in New York wants to kill him. Can he survive long enough to find out what is happening.

If you are looking for something to hit your Payback, Snatch, or Memento itch, then this film might be a good fit for you. Crime Suspense Mysteries are usually well liked, and don’t need to be amazing as long as the twist is solid enough.

Playmobil: The Movie – Releasing 08/30/19 (release pushed back to 12/6/19)
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 24%
Her brother is lost, and Marla, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, is forced to enter into the world of Playmobil to find him. While on the journey, Marla will have to stop being organised and take chances to be able to find her brother, and herself. With a supporting cast of Jim Gaffigan, Gabriel Bateman, Adam Lambert, Kenan Thompson, and Meghan Trainor.

I highly recommend that you skip this movie. Even if you have children, they likely don’t play with Playmobil. Even if they did, there are better films to take them to. I feel sorry for the cast, but it’s hard to know you are in this bad a film.

The Souvenier – Releasing 08/30/19 (wide release)
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 90%
A student who is not usually outgoing, find a way to express herself through film. While finally understanding and being able to express herself, she meets a man. Her friends and family try to warn her about the untrustworthiness of her new love interest, but she pushes them off, continuing to form a relationship with him. Eventually, the world of her love life, begins to conflict with her passion as an artist, and a choice will have to be made.

This is a very artistic, independent film. If you are willing to sit through that, then you will not be disappointed. I recommend this film, but only with that caveat.
