Celebrate National Fried Chicken Day At Knott’s Berry Farm!

Growing up in Orange County as a child, we spent a lot of time at Knott’s Berry Farm. As a result of my time attending and visiting the park, I have some fan traits that I’m sure other lovers of Knott’s also endures. I have a serious love for the flavor of Boysenberry, I miss the ghost town steak house, I remember when the park maps quality went down, and have positive memories of eating at Mrs. Knott’s Famous Fried Chicken!

When Mrs. Cordelia Knotts opened her famous chicken restaurant it was in 1934 during the Great Depression, and visitors could get a chicken dinner for only 65 cents. This of course lead to hour long lines of people looking to get an amazing meal which included, and still today, herb-seasoned friend chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, a green salad, cherry rhubarb, kernel corn, buttermilk biscuits, and a slice of boysenberry pie.

Today the establishment serves over 1,000 chicken diners a day to over 1.5 million patrons a year!

If you end up deciding to celebrate the day with Mrs. Knott’s famous chicken you can even purchase a special commemorative National Fried Chicken Day pin at Virginia’s Gift Shop!
