One of our favorite experiences from The Grey Ghost Project was the visit to room B340.
This room has an interesting history having been selected by the Disney company to be the guaranteed haunted room for those looking for a guaranteed spooky experience.
There were gadgets and speakers hidden throughout the room to create a terrorizing and hair-raising night of sleep. When they sold the boat, they forgot to warn the new owners of the room’s gadgets, and they continued to haunt unprepared and unexpected guests.
When the new owners investigated, they found a control box that managed the gadgets. In response the new owner just cut all the wires and sealed up the box.
However, the spookiness did not stop. Rebecca Knight, host of The Grey Ghost Project mentioned that they believe that it’s likely the pranks invited ghosts that are inherently pranksters.
Now the Queen Mary has reopened one of the ship’s most notoriously haunted cabins, Stateroom B340, was shut down for 30 years and then finally re-opened in 2018, just to shortly later be shut down due to COVID. Now, thanks to the hard work and restoration of the Queen Mary, Stateroom B340 will once again be available for overnight guests starting Friday, September 13th, 2024.
In celebration of the event, the Queen Mary will host a “Spooktacular Bazaar” and Double-Feature Movie Night of Nightmare Before Christmas and Labyrinth, ticket to the movie night will be $10, but you can snag the ultimate package for $250 which will include a Queen Mary Blanket, Snacks and a bottle of Queen Mary Champagne with four (4) tickets to the event. On top of all of that there will be several pop-up shops dedicated to the spooky, local chefs and food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and more.
If you miss out on the 13th, don’t fret the Queen Mary will be hosting a Spooky Speakeasy experience on September 19th and 26th, priced at $55 per person and includes four drinks.
See you on the Grey Ghost!
