Games Done Quick (GDQ) and Gamescom are bringig a brand new speedrunning event this year, specifically “gamescom GDQ.”
This new three-day live speedrunning event taking place August 28–30, 2026 and will occur at gamescom in Germany. This will be GDQ’s first-ever European event and its first official partnership with the world’s largest gaming show. Speedruns will start at 10am CEST and will run until approximately 8pm CEST. Fans can attend the event live on-site at Gamescom, or virtually at GDQ’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
The event will feature a curated lineup of top speedrunners from around the world, streaming live daily, and raising funds for Gaming for Democracy, an initiative supporting civic engagement through gaming culture.
Runner submissions open on May 4, 2026 with additional details announcing soon!
