Celebrate The Anniversary Of Hellboy With Us!

Today is the anniversay of the creation and release of Hellboy in 1993 from Dark Horse comics and Mike Mignola.

In the series, from the very beginning, Hellboy is a superpowered paranormal investigator who works for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.) and has appeared in three movies, two animated films, three video games, and several comics, spin-offs, one-shots, and crossovers since it’s creation.

Hellboy, or “Anung Un Rama, Urush An Rama” means “Destroyer of Worlds, Creator of Worlds.”

While he was summoned from Hell to Earth by Nazi occultists, but was saved from Allied Forces during the war, including his father figure, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm. Now thanks to his father figure, he has been trained to investigate and resolve supernatural, dark, and Nazis plots that are steeped in the topics of folklore, pulp stories, adventure novels, and Lovecraftian horror.

With it being his anniversary, we wanted to share some of our favorite comics from his line-up.
