It was a tragedy that the Queen Mary was shut to the public due to the prior companies mismanagement of the historical landmark.
The location, while closed to the public, has allowed its entirety to be available to projects like commercials, television shows, and even movies, in the hope that the filming fees can go toward restoration and the eventually re-opening to the public.
Haunting of the Queen Mary is one such film taking advantage of the filming location, but unlike other projects, the Queen Mary is the main subject of the film. Taking place across multiple time periods and using the history of the ship to tell a scary and thrilling tale.
This movie is distributed from Vertical and directed by Gary Shore (Dracula Untold). The film stars Alice Eve, Joel Fry, Nell Hudson, William Shockley, and Lenny Rush.
While the film is a horror about ghost sightings, that doesn’t mean the cast and crew were safe from same. The Choreographer and Assistant Choreographer specifically believe a ghost was attempting to communicate with them within the vanity in the Winston Churchill Suite.
One of our favorite Halloween attractions was Dark Harbor at the Queen Mary because of the sites real connection to the supernatural. Since we can’t have Dark Harbor this year, at least we have this film.
Make sure to watch Haunting of the Queen Mary August 18, 2023 in theaters or Video on Demand the same day!
