Los Angeles Comic Con 2022 Wrap Up!

This was the 11th Los Angeles Comic Con, and as someone who attended the first convention, I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised at the scale, size and quality of this convention!

The convention drew its highest number of attendees with 126,600 guests at the space. A fitting number considering how they extended the West Hall to allow for more space for all the new vendors. Even by pre-pandemic numbers this was a hit! Hell in 2019 Los Angeles Comic Con only had 123,400 attendees.

In the past year, they forced all ticket holders to get their badges at the entrance of the West Hall, forcing them out to the hallway and giving them the option to then turn into the West Halls gaming space, or to head down the long journey to the South Hall. This year they busted out the wall and ticket holders were greeted to a vibrant and amazing gaming space on first entrance.

The gaming hall not only hosted the Streaming Studio, but its own main stage filled with fun and engaging creators. Hell we even got the chance to say hello to and take a picture of the guys from The Warp Zone.

Last year the space was more dedicated to Anime, with workshops, but this year they pushed all the away and created much larger Free Play and Indie Creator zones for attendees to discover. Outside the backside of the hall was even a collection of food trucks and a dedicated Ardbeg experience which boasted three distinct experiences and an evening of free drinks for guests over 21!

Back to the main hall, the South Hall, the whole space was used! All in all the experience had over 850 vendors or artists filling in the exhibitors spaces. I will say that I was saddened to not see some of my favorite vendors at the convention this year, but there were tons of new creators and companies providing unique gift options for the attendees.

We hope to see you at the convention next year!
