The Abandon – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 80%
When a bright light hits him on the battlefield in Iraq, Injured soldier Willis, played by Jonathan Rosenthal, is found to have been transported into a cube that shifts and changes. Before hope is lost though he begins to receive messages from a fellow prisoner who offers to try to help make both of their situations better.
I wonder if this film will either be an allegory for the trama and pain a soldier suffers from war injuries, or a forced journey where a soldier has to work with their enemy for thier escape. Either way the premise is interesting.
The Punishment – Releasing in Theaters

When their seven year old child misbehaves, the parents punish it as best they know how, but when leaving the boy outside the car and Ana, played by Antonia Zegers, drives off, her husband convinces her it’s too far and they return. While it’s only been two minutes the child is no where to be found and all that is left around them is a foreboding forest.
This premise really upsets me, but if the end is the child teaching their parents a lesson, then it would be better for me, but I could never imagine in a hundred years something like this.
Twisters – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 80%
Kate, played by Daisy Edgar-Jones, is a retired storm tracker, due to a tragedy in her past with a tornado. However, when a friend develops a new tracking system, she will be pulled into the world once more, and will be placed face to face with Tyler, played by Glen Powell, a reckless adrenaline junky who pushes boundries.
This is supposed to be like a sequel, but feels a lot more like a reboot completely, I hope it’s more of a sequel though. That being said, Powell looks amazingly slimy and charming in all of the trailers. Definitely worth a watch for him alone.
Valleyheart – Releasing in Limited Theaters

The heat isn’t the thing that’s going to kill Jane, played by Kathryn Isabelle Easton, and her brother when the Russian Mob sets their sights on him. Now she will have to reach out to her ex, a former police officer, for help to get them both out of the state, or suffer a grizzly fate.
Kathryn Isabelle Easton pulls double duty here as actor and director. It’s an interesting, but done multiple times in the past, story. If you like crime thrillers then this will be a good watch for you this week.
Widow Clicquot – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%
When her husband dies, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot, played by Haley Bennett, decides to buck societal norms and takes over their family wine business. While poltical and financial ruin flouts about her, she defies the industries chides and becomes one of the world’s first great businesswomen.
This is a story based on a real woman, and a real bad ass boss! She helped create what we now know as the Champagne industry. If you like history, and female empowerment stories, then this will be a great watch as it has both!
