Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of February 24, 2023

Ambush – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Set in Vietnam during the war, soldiers must take on an unknown warfare as their small outpost is ambushed.

In the American Revolutionary War the US succeeded in gaining their independence due in no small part to guerrilla warfare against the British. Many years later, those same similar tactics where then used against US forces in Vietnam, and we were not prepared for them, this movie showcases a little of that.

Bunker – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

During World War I, Captain Hall, played by Sean Cullen, and his soldiers are trapped in a bunker when an evil entity begins to play with their minds, feeding upon their paranoia and fear.

A horror triller filled with gore and the horror of wars. It’s an interesting concept that it’s what ever in that bunker that kills them and terrorizes them, when the war just outside is normally what soldiers worry will drive them mad.

Cocaine Bear – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Based on the true story of a bear that stumples upon a drug runner’s plane crash, this movie sees a group of people trying to take down a bear that has gone on a coke-fueled massacre.

Let’s be honest, Sharknado is over. Now is the season of Cocaine Bear. I hope they make like 50 of these films. Just another different bear finding cocaine and going on a murder spree. If this movie seems interesting to you, you can always watch Grizzly.

Juniper – Releasing in Theaters and then on Streaming a week later.
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 96%

Once a war correspondent, Ruth, played by Charlotte Rampling, is now retired with a fractured leg and drinking problem. However, when her grandson Sam, played by George Ferrier, morns the death of his mother, Ruth’s daughter, the two bond over their tragedy.

This is a heavy drama, but if you loved Rampling from her work on the last season of Dexter, then you’ll experience her strong and stiff acting skill in the role of an aged and distant grandmother.

Linoleum – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 95%

A children’s TV series host, Cameron, played by Jim Gaffigan, always had an interest in becoming an astronaut. When a rogue satellite falls into his backyard, he sees it as a sign to build his ticket to outer space. However, when his world begins to become stranger than fiction, he is given pause.

Jim Gaffigan is a great comedian. I love his serious work as well. This film will be more of a Drama than comedy but will lean on his comedy chops to produce a fun adventure throughout.
