A Muay Thai fighter, played by Nik Sasso, has retired to the normal job as a bouncer. When a performer, played by Nomi Ruiz, is threatened by a thug for being transgender, the retired fighter becomes her protector and boyfriend. As a result of the protection, he is forced to return to the realm of fighting, it puts a strain on his new relationship.

I’m more than happy to have a transgender character in a story where they are not just transitioning, but there is, of course, the storyline of them being the object of ridicule. I only hope that the movie doesn’t spend too much time focusing on that, and uses the story of the character in a normal matter, and not the two only forms of stories typically used for transgendered characters.

When a serial killer begins to terrorize Los Angeles, Deputy Sheriff Joe Deacon, played by Denzel Washington, partners with Sgt. Jim Baxter, played by Rami Malek, to hunt them. However, Deacon starts to realize that the killer’s investigation path is leading to secrets about himself.

If you are a fan of Virtuosity, then this film might sound a bit similar. The story of Denzel’s character being the only one to track down a serial killer with a shared history with the man person. That being said, no one does action and suspense like Denzel Washington.

Jen, played by Charlotte Vega, and her friends set to hike around the Appalachian Trail, they stray from the path, despite ample warnings. However, when their actions begin to catch the attention of a community of mountain dwellers, called The Foundation, and they don’t take trespassers lightly.

If you are looking for a horror movie that holds some bite in January, this movie will be the ticket for you. There is something always terrifying about the mysteries that could exist within the Appalachian Trail, so many horror stories exist based on that region.
