Two women, played by Shannon Elizabeth and Kika Magalhães, struggle against a human trafficking network in a world of corrupt police, and difficult actions with only the help of a priest, played by Danny Trejo, who has vowed to keep them safe.

Unlike the Sound of Freedom film, this one doesn’t have a root of inappropriate actions, and false gladhandling to turn the message sour.

A rare look at the worlds of Monasteries where a film crew was given unique access to the compounds and to people who have not spoken to those outside of their orders for quite a while. A rare look into why someone would join these orders and forsake the rest of the world.

This documentary is very interesting, and gives a voice to people that normally you would never hear about or from. Very interesting.

The Marsh King’s Daughter – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Helena, played by Daisy Ridley, thought her life could return to normal, but when her father escapes from jail and runs back to the wilderness, she must hunt him down and pay him back for all the years he held her and her mother captive.

A challenge of being strong enough due to trauma, to overcome and overwhelm those that created the trama. An interesting thing for sure.

The Holdovers – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 97%

When a disgruntled teacher, played by Paul Giamatti, gets tasked with looking after the students stuck at the boarding school during Christmas break he forms a bond with one such student, played by Dominic Sessa, inspite of there dislike, because they are both alone.

This reminds me of films like Dutch, where an adult and a child form an unlikely, but quasi healthy/unhealthy relationship. Another great example is Rushmore. However, this film has the amazing talent of Paul Giamatti to really sell this period feeling passionate film about being broken and finding others like you to help you through.

Deep Rising – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 71%

Narrated by Jason Momoa, this documentary shines a light on the act of The Metals Company, as it attempts to mine the Pacific Ocean floor and how it’s act will negatively impact one of the Earth’s last pristine environments

No this is not a spin-off film from The Boys. This is a tragic fact of our world, and will continue to showcase the greed of humanity. Our only hope is that we can get this information out to the public before it’s too late.
