Rochelle Visits Pageant of the Monsters

I’m a huge fan of Pageant of the Masters so when I heard about Pageant of the Monsters I knew I just had to check it out!

Just like the Pageant itself is based on art masterpieces, this was based on a literary masterpiece, the Greek Mythologies. You’ll have to enter the Maze of the Minotaur, their Haunted House, so you must follow the string of yarn to get out.

Although they may not be werewolves, mummies, vampires, or other monsters we are used to seeing around Halloween time, these were ancient monsters that elicited such fear in the hearts of the people of their time. Start at a Greek feast, then meet such legends as the ferryman of the undead, Poseidon, Zeus and Hera, King Midas, Pandora’s Box, Medusa, the Sirens, the Skeleton Warriors, and the Minotaur himself. Each “piece” looked like a masterful painting.

Aside from this, there are plenty of activities to do here. Vote on your favorite scarecrow – Wednesday, Scare Maid, Scary Ella. Visit a fortune teller – my fortune was related to the full moon in play. Watch some contortionists who look like they’re straight out of Cirque du Soleil. Make your own arts and crafts. See artisan’s arts and crafts. I made a wand and a crown with “A Cinderella Christmas”. One of our favorite artists was Brian Giberson’s wooden totems.

This event only comes once every 5 years, and is suitable for kids 5+. This weekend last weekend and Tuesday only! Don’t miss out! Find out more Here!
