New Years 2020 – Pandemic Safe Events!

Looking for a way to stay safe, stay up, and celebrate that 2020 is finally over?

We are right there with you. For those reasons we have our fun and friendly suggestions for your perfect and safe New Years Eve! So without wasting your time, you are here for one thing only, lets jump into it. (For those looking for a little more background on why we celebrate the traditions of New Years Eve, head Here!)

Virtual NYE In New York
As always New York will be dropping their ball, and you can celebrate with them virtually starting at 6:00 p.m. ET, as they stream the broadcast on TimesSquareBall.net.

As they stream the build up to the event, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will once again be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and will include musical performances from Gloria Gaynor, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Porter, Cyndi Lauper, and Jimmie Allen.

Additionally there will be a virtual times square viewing that can be watched via app, which can be downloaded via these Links!

If you can’t be there physically, be there virtually!

Virtual NYE In Los Angeles

Starting at 11:00 p.m. PT, this event doesn’t fool around wasting your time leading up to it!

While no one is allowed to attend in person Grand Park is still holding a virtual New Year’s party! The event will be virtually hosted by DJ Eddie One and Jessica Flores. Performing at the event will be Steve Aoki, BIA, Dim Mak En Fuego ft. AQUIHAYAQUIHAY, Andrekza, and 2DEEP.

You can watch the event live on Fuse’s Youtube page, on Grand Park’s Youtube page, or at The Music Center Offstage!

Remote Roleplaying Game With A Countdown
This idea is awesome. Especially if you are a fan of roleplaying with friends.

While you shouldn’t have non-house members in your physical party, have a virtual or remote party for roleplaying. You can use apps like Discord, Skype, Google Hangouts, or even Zoom if you want. What ever keeps them engaged, by distant is a big plus!

To add a flair to the game, create a realistic time system for your short one-off adventure. Maybe a scenario where the party members are rushing to stop doomsday, or a spell has been set off that will destroy a town, and the group must save as many people as possible.

What ever the story you plan, make time matter, and if your group doesn’t save the day before the ball drops… well they lose!

If you are looking for a simple enough system to jump into, you can always check out Fantasy Flight’s Genesys system. It’s a system you can jump into pretty quickly, and can be tailored to your senario with little work. Great for beginner gamers. You can even get a pdf copy of the book at Drive-Thru RPG, if you found out about this idea the day before New Years!

Add Some Gravity To The Ball Drop With At-Home Escape Room Games
Want a great way to entertain the people in the home with you, then pick up an at-home escape room in a box.

These experiences do not have a lot of replayability (maybe a couple months or year later), but they are still a lot of fun when you are playing them. If you set up the timer just right, you can aim to solve the room or fail at the stroke of midnight!

Nothing puts the stress on the year ending, like being locked in an imaginary escape room forever!

We recommend trying out Exit The Game for this option, and they can even be purchased on Amazon for next day shipping with Prime!

Whatever you do, enjoy a safe entrance into a new year!
