When it comes to Dungeons & Dragons, there is one monster that usually makes a regular appearance in almost any campaign, and that is a Beholder. They are dangerous, and force players to adjust how they think and act during combat thanks to their anti-magic ray, as well as their serious line-up of attack types.
However, when it comes to Beholders, one stands above the rest in the form of Xanathar. For Universal Studios Hollywood’s Dungeon & Dragons experience coming to Fan Fest Nights, they decided to take visitors to the world of Waterdeep, and run them through the a journey that will pit them against, or at least alongside of Xanathar.
In crafting the physical and in person the legendary beholder Xanathar, (and his beloved pet goldfish, Sylgar), Universal Studios and Wizards of the Coast turned to one of the most influencial physical puppet, and movie creature designers, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
