Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Marvel Rivals season update. Today we will go over the Season 9 updates and something that will be rolling out throughout July and going into August. This season focuses on the collapsing time line and time lines in general. Apocalypse works with the gods and Celestials but something has been corrupted and as he ascends to Godhood, he is murdered. We don’t know who killed him and other people have been slain as well. That’s the lore of this season and with that said lets get into the updates!
BLACK WIDOW REWORK
For all you Black Widow fans, the team put in a lot of work and reworked/balanced Black Widow to be a much more suitable choice to play. Her primary is now a normal rife with no sniper/ADS mode as well as much increased fire rate. She can run around and output much more DPS than before and risk missing her shot and being vulnerable. As well as being able to move around more the stamina restrictions have been removed from her sprinting and jumping. She also gained plasma blast which was originally part of her ultimate but moved it to her frequent tool kit which allows enemies to be slowed and damaged. Now of course she is still a sniper, and her new ultimate ability gives her ADS Sniper Mode until the duration runs out or you use all the bullets given. Her sniper has also gained massive increase in both damage and hit box, along with piercing through multiple enemies and no range fall off. Check her out as soon as you can. NEW CHARACTER: JUBILLE
With a new Season we got a new character; Jubilee! She is a strategist hero and I enjoyed playing her when I got some early access. To me she is definitely more of a DPS and crowd control healer. A lot of her moves can be used to either heal an ally or damage enemies. My favorite move is she has an orb that is thrown and follow enemies to damage or allies to heal and the more healing or damage done, the bigger the bubble gets and then you can either retract it or blow it up for extra damage. Her ultimate also creates a large AOE around you pushing back/damaging enemies and healing teammates kind of like Luna Snows ultimate but with a bunch of damage and knock back. REWORKED TEAM-UP ABILITIES
Now for my favorite rework/update that the developers made to the game are……TEAM-UP ABILITIES! A lot of the community have consistently had an issue with so many reworks and abilities being taken away, changed, nerfed, etc. I am very happy to say that the dev’s worked OVER 1 YEAR and finally rolled out Team-Up Abilities for EVERYONE! Not only that but there are two new abilities for every single character but the best part is……..you can use them no matter if the team-up character is in your squad or not! Each ability now gets a Base Effect and Enhance effect. The Base Effect is useable no matter and you have a choice between two that you can select at any time on the character selection menu during a game. On top of the Base Effect, if the team-up character is in your game, then you get the Enhanced Effect as well. I played around with a few characters and having an added ability is a game changer and you don’t have to rely on having to select a character just to get an effect anymore. Get out there and play with different characters to see how they have been reworked.
FUTURE UPDATES COMING SOON:
Finally some quick updates as to what’ coming throughout the month of July and in August. We are Starting July 23 there will be a new convoy map; Thebes. It’s where Apocalypse was killed and there will be a new mini game to find out who is behind all the killings. Also towards end of July the mid-season finals of Marvel Rivals Ignite will take place in Los Angles from July 29 – August 1. Top 10 teams compete for the first championship of this year. After that, around August 10 we will be getting to the mid-season of Marvel Rivals, Season 9.5, and also getting a new character; The Hood! When playing with Jubilee I saw that one of her team-up abilities will be with The Hood, so that will be available when he is released. And there you have it everyone!
