CES 2023 – Flic Twist Showcases At CES After No Product Release

Flic is a smart device that was designed with the interest of helping users control smart home features and devices in your house. You can program specific gestures, movements, and actions to control multiple things throughout the internet of things in your home.

You can find the original campaign Here.

So… has the product released to its backers? No. Why? While the initial campaign was successful, there have been issues in the world that have prevented Flic from producing the device. Since its initial launch the device was dealt with supply-side setbacks, things a lot of companies have been dealing with as vital components have been lacking in the past years. That isn’t all though as a major design issue caused a setback as well.

When the first prototype was delivered to the creators, they tested it out and they found that the device was too stiff, and not as smooth and responsive as they wanted it to be.

The global pandemic also didn’t help on multiple aspects of the process.

At the end of the day are all these issues and excuses valid? Do they share your frustration at not having the product in your hand already. That’s the questions the backers are asking online. From my point of view, it’s clear that they have not given up the ghost on this campaign yet. They went to CES specifically showcase the device before it’s hopeful final delivery to its backers.

Personally, I think the device is incredibly responsive and very sleek. I’m always going to be more willing to accept a delay for a product if it means being sure I don’t get an inferior item. So, I commend the creators taking the hate to make sure that a good product goes out to their backers.
