CES 2025 – Heated Hive Box From Lifehive

If you are old hat at honeybee raising, or just starting out in the world, one thing is constant, there is an outside force trying to kill your hive, specifically the Varroa Mite. Those buggers will attach to a bee and fly into a hive and spread leading to a colony collapse. It’s reasons like that, which lead the people at LifeHive to invent a lower hive frame with a built-in heated hive comb. This item, powered internally in the frame, and recharged with a power option or solar panel, will heat up to 103 degrees Fahrenheit. This raised temperature will be just hot enough to kill off those pesky Varroa Mites before they can negatively affect your hive, therefore keeping your winged friends safe.

The fact that it’s the lower frame means it won’t likely affect your honey collecting, and due to your bees being able to easily survive hot temperatures like this, them, the comb, and the honey will all be safe and sound!

They will be running a Kickstarter in February for their whole contained box system, with powered options and hope to down the line creates frames for other people’s already existing hive boxes.
