  • So, let’s take a look at the stars of the buggy bonanza! (Something tells me Timon and Pumbaa would approve of this Community Day.)

    Spotlight on Karrablast

So, luckily enough we’ve had access to Karrablast for quite a while! As such, we already have an article on it right Here! Check out the Spotlight to see if this little guy might be a fun bug to have around!

Of course, this means that Escavalier has also been Spotlighted but this was before Pokemon GO did the big Level 50 re-balance so here’s a breakdown on its new and improved stats!

With a Max CP of 2,889, Attack of 223, Defense of 187 and Stamina of 172 it can hit pretty hard but doesn’t take damage as well as some others. It’s a Bug/Steel Type which gives it resistance to normal, bug, steel, psychic, ice, dragon and fairy type moves and special resistance to poison, and grass Type moves. It’s especially weak to fire Type moves but that is its only weakness! That’s right! It has only one! In terms of Fast Attacks you have Bug Bite and Counter, the first being STAB. For your Charged Attacks you have Megahorn, Aerial Ace, Drill Run, and Acid Spray, with the first again being STAB. The Community Day move, Razor Shell, is a Water Type move which is amazing in terms of coverage against those pesky fire types!

Shiny has a slightly muted shell, with it swapping out a dark blue husk, and replacing it with more a light green color.

    Spotlight on Shelmet

Shelmet was introduced at the same time as Karrablast so we have a Spotlight on it Here! Go take a look at the relevant lore and see if you might want to have a little snail buddy join your journey.

And, again, the same article details the evolved form barring re-worked stats.

With a Max CP of 2,441, Attack of 220, Defense of 120 and Stamina of 190. It’s a Bug Type which gives it resistance to fighting, ground, and grass Type moves. It’s weak to flying, rock, and fire Type moves. DEFIITELY not Escavalier’s equal typing-wise. In terms of Fast Attacks you have Acid and Infestation, the latter is STAB. For your Charged Attacks you have Bug Buzz, Signal Beam, Focus Blast, and Acid Spray, with the first two being STAB. The Community Day move, Energy Ball, is a Grass Type move. This offers coverage against any pesky Rock Types, but little else. Again, Escavalier is the better choice and it’s not close.

Shiny Shelmet are yellow for their non-shell flesh, makes them really easy to stand out from their non-shiny friends.

And that’s all I’ve got for you, Trainers! Have fun out there, and make sure to grab both of these shiny Pokemon! As always, I’m wishing you the absolute best luck!
