Hey, Trainers! Welcome to another Community Day Spotlight. This month the event is focusing on Bounsweet from the Alola region!
Sunday the 19th of May is the date, 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm is the time.
Bonuses are:
Spotlight on Bounsweet
Bounsweet is kind of the Oddish of Alola – a three stage grass type that’s just a cute little round critter to start with and gets more humanoid as it grows. Though, Tsareena is definitely a different kind of humanoid compared to Vileplume or Bellossom. More… human-ey.
The Pokedex tells us that Bounsweet’s not exactly bright. It smells sweet enough to bring all kinds of hungry monsters to it’s location. Its predators include Toucannon and Greedent who will happily snack on this fruity little friend. It’s actually entirely too sweet for human consumption though, so if you want to know what it tastes like, you need to water down it’s sweat.
I like to imagine it tastes like fruit punch.
It evolves into Steenee and then into Tsareena. In the games this requires that Steenie learn the move Stomp. Because it’s gotta earn those boots, I guess! In Pokemon GO, you just need 100 candies.
Spotlight on Tsareena
The Pokedex tells us that Tsareena has a cruel heart. It kicks and stomps it’s enemies into submission, laughing the entire time! It’s often used in advertising for beauty salons! Seems fitting. Even though Tsareena are mean-sprited, it will calm down if you touch it’s crown.
So, can it stomp it’s enemies into submission in Pokemon GO?
With a Max CP of 2,964, 222 Attack, Defense of 195 and a Stamina of 176… unfortunately? No. It’s not going to be doing a lot of domination. It’s outclassed by several other prominent Grass Types like Tangrowth, Roserade and of course Mega Sceptile and Mega Venusaur, especially. Tsareena has great Attack, good Defense, but that Stamina brings the whole thing down.
It’s a Grass Type so it’s weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, and Bug-type moves, and offers Resistance to Electric, Ground, Water, and Grass-type moves.
In terms of Fast Attacks, you have Charm, Razor Leaf, and Magic Leaf, the last two being Stab. For Charged Attacks you get Draining Kiss, Stomp, Grass Knot, and Energy Ball, the last of two being Stab. The Community Day option of High Jump Kick is also available if you evolve your Bounsweet to Tsareena within five hours of the event’s end.
Shiny Bounsweet is pretty easy to spot! Its leaves are purple rather than the yellow-green they usually are.
As always, Trainers, I’m over here wishing you the absolute best of luck! Have fun, stay hydrated and catch’em all!
