Sesame Street Is Hosting A Town Hall About Racism

Older children might be able to fully understand, or at least partially understand Racism, that it’s wrong, that you might be powerless to fight it alone, and the effects it will bring. However, small children are going to have a hard time wrapping their heads around it. We don’t give them enough credit for their intelligence, but their life experiences prevent them from actually fully comprehending.

Now however, one of the most influential children’s programs wants to help out as best they can to talk to your younger kids about racism, the recent protests, and how to be empathetic and understanding of the people suffering from it.

Hosting a town hall this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, Big Bird, Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Rosita will join commentators and anchors on CNN to discuss the matter.

This isn’t the first time they have done this, as they did do one earlier in the year to help children understand why they couldn’t go to school or hang out with friends as a result of COVID-19.

If you would like to join in watching with your children, or alone, you can do so on CNN’s network, or on their Homepage or apps, and no cable log-in will be required for this broadcast.
