When it comes to recue operations on open-water, lifeguards are important. That being said, they are not universally considered First Responders. With that in mind, the United States Lifesaving Association is pushing the House to recognize formally open-water lifeguards as First Responders.
Party in support of the cause, and party in support of their new action-drama series Rescue: HI-Surf, Fox has partnered with the USLA with a letter-writing initiative to the House, urging representatives to pass Concurrent Resolution 41 and give open-water lifeguards the recognition they deserve. They are calling the campaign LIFEGUARDS FIRST.
To help with the campaign, Fox and USLA is kicking off events in the Jersey Shore, on August 24, 2024, and in Los Angeles, on August 31, 2024. You can join the campaign efforts at https://www.rhsfirstresponders.com/!
