Movies For The Week Of October 16, 2025

After The Hunt – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 40%

A college is thrown into upheaval when a professor, played by Julia Roberts, find out her star student, played by Ayo Edebiri, has accussed another professor, played by Andrew Garfield, for inappropriate acts. When the investigations into the events begins to pull at the threads of her own dark secrets, she must deal with her own potential threats.

This is a pretty hot button issue still to this day. It’s insane to think we can’t resolve teacher inproprietry at colleges and high schools. There are enough people

Black Phone 2 – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 77%

It’s been four years since the events of the first film. Now Finn, the sole survivor of the Grabber, has a new life and is 17 years old. The Grabber has returned and his evil transcends his death and appears to be stalking children at a winter camp. Can Finn and his sister Gwen find out how to stop him finally?

Both Mason Thames and Ethan Hawke return for the second film. The suspenseful successful first film does not guarentee the sequel will be as amazing, but early insights seem to showcase that it is an amazing second chapter in the story.

Frankenstein – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 83%

A brilliant and egotistical scientist, played by Oscar Isaac, and his lifetime study of reanimation attempts to bring a creature to life. However, when he successfully does so, the horror of what he has done, and the laws that he has broken in nature come back to bite back.

This is a period piece crafted beautifully as Guillermo del Toro adapts the Mary Shelley’s tale. If you like a classic horror story, but want new life, then this is it.

Good Fortune – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 83%

Gabriel wants to get a promotion in his field, he is tired of being the angel that saves people from texting drivers. However, no matter how hard he tries, he still can’t seem to get it right for his new charges a gig worker, played by Aziz Ansari, or a venture capitalist, played by Seth Rogen.

This looks like a cute, but weird film and I think the comedy of the story will be greatly led by Keanu Reeves. If you want something a bit clam this week, then check out this film.

Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A demon uprising is taking over the world, and only a priest, a monk, and a boy with powerful magic can save it. However, they can only save the world if they can confront and overcome their own inner demons.

I don’t know if this film is in connection at all with the Exorcism line of films, but very unlikely. That being said, if you like animation and demons, then this film will entertain you this weekend!
