Are you a fan of old school Jurassic Park? You might have seen news about a brand new experience coming to Universal Studios Hollywood, in the form of classic Jurassic Park interactions and shows.
Located on the lower lot tucked behind the tower of escalators, behind The Mummy Ride, is a brand new experience for fans of the Jurassic Park series. Marked by the classic doorways to Jurassic Park, this experience starts off with several of the vehicles and props from multiple of the Jurassic Park movies from the first all the way up Jurassic World.
Additionally, at the experience you’ll see actors portraying characters like John Hammond, Ian Malcolm, and Dennis Nedry. Fans are able to walk up to them, get pictures and interact with them as if they are literally their characters from the film franchise.
On top of all the cool vehicles and fan interactions, they also have several shows that will take place near the back of the experience, including a triceratops that walks around and entertains and a raptor breakout with security guards attempting to calm the raptor down before it attacks the unsuspecting crowd.
Unfortunately, while others have reported this experience as open, it only had a soft opening in the middle of the week at the park. At all other times this experience has been closed. Specifically marked by a large gate that prevents you from entering the area that it is located at. Additionally, the area right next to it is used by the park currently for transportation of mobility challenged guests from the upper lot to the lower lot, making it dangerous for guests to just simply walk through.
It is our belief that the experience is intended for the night time Fan Fest Nights event happening later this month, which is supported by our belief that the main gate has pyrotechnics-like-torch at the top of it.
