While the USA is celebrating it’s 250th anniversary, Los Angeles’ Central Library is celebrating it’s 100 years on July 11, 2026. As part of the Centennial Festival they are creating some free programs, performances, artist and author discussions, exhibits, hands-on activities, special guests, and more. For the younger visitors to the festival, there will be crafts, a puppet show, storytime.
One amazing thing they will be bringing is the world’s largest pop-up book. Created by Los Angeles–based artist and printmaker Daniel González, and engineering by Matthew Reinhart, this book, Luceros y Penumbras, will be quite a sight to see.
If you are looking for something fun, and love the Public Library, then this will be an event you will want to attend! Find out more about it Here.
