During San Diego Comic-Con, we stopped by Bandai Namco’s and Tamashii’s booths inside the convention center. We got to see all things about Bandai Namco this year at San Diego Comic-Con! We were able to interview Justin who was hanging out at the Tamashii Nations booth all weekend and got a tour of the booths and announcements.
This year Tamashii Nations announced more exclusives. There were three Dragonball Z/Super/Dima figures; Gotenks, SSJ Blue Gogeta, and Dima Goku. SSJ Diama Goku has his power pole that can be moved around, Gotenks has his ghost from his special attack. All figures come with interchangeable pieces for their heads and hands for different positions and reactions. There was also a Naruto Uzumaki figure that is gold and black due to him being in Kurama Link Mode. A big ball Rasengan also comes with it as well as being able to change faces and hands.
Sticking to Tamashii, they debuted a Psylocke Gamerverse figure. She has a classic costume on. It also comes with a multi-piece set of knife effect parts and butterfly-shaped effect parts. Also different expressions you can change out. Tamashii also released four Dragonball Z Capsules that you can open and transform the inside toy into the house or machine. They have Capsules 1, 9, 433, and 576 which are the Capsule House, Bulma’s Motorcycle, Trunks Time Machine, and Bulma’s Airplane. They will be released throughout next year.
Moving on to the Gundam booth, they announced not only some cool model kits and figures, but also a new series called Gundam RG XARX-Zero (which is pronounced Alex Zero). Along this they announced a game coming next year called Gundam Rogue Orbit. The series and game are supposed to be tired when the series takes place 100 years before the game, so we are excited for next year to see how they are tied together. One thing that stood out to me as well was a display showing a Wing Gundam Zero computer case with some really vibrant art, as well as a keyboard. Once they announced the new series and games, the booth at the top of every our would send up Gundam Helix and Gundam Zero that seemed 6 feet tall. And of course there were some model kits and action figures that were shown with different grades for the kits and different levels of the action figures. So Gundam made some big announcements this year!
Tamagotchi has made a comeback everyone! There have been some expansions and awesome reveals this year. There’s a bunch of plushies you can buy in different sizes. There are a bunch of stickers and accessories that were displayed that you can also use to possibly decorate your Tamagotchi phone case that you can get too. There’s also some cool building nano blocks where you can build a 1st or 2nd generation Tamagotchi handheld egg or actual Tamagotchi. They also made a robot transforming Tamagotchi that actually breaks down into a ship and opens up into a robot. And of course there’s some Star Wars collabs.
Finally, we were able to hit the Godzilla booth. There were some Godzilla Scramble mystery eggs you can open with a Godzilla inside. There was of course a chase Godzilla that was eventually revealed and everyone was trying to get. There’s some comic pages and words on them in the spirit of comic-con. Godzilla was also walking around once in a while around the booth and you were able to take a photo with him if you caught him while there. Also there was a photo opportunity where you can sit in a plane with Godzilla chasing you as the background in the spirit of the Godzilla Minus Zero movie. Another cool thing we saw was the GodziBurst, which is a collection of interactive toys that have interchangeable parts for you to build your perfect Kaiju! And of course there were some really awesome looking figures and toys from the franchise.
