Amazon And Hyundai Announce Partnership

It was announced today, and with Hyundai backing the statement, that Hyundai vehicles will become available for purchase on Amazon. This is a major change to the way car sales used to occur in the USA due to automobile dealership lobbying in the past.

It was a really hard marketplace to break into, selling vehicles, with companies like Carvana breaking into the field and really shaking things up. With Tesla also helping in the field break little holes in the major lobbying group’s defenses. This, however, will be in partnership with local dealerships to make sure that Amazon doesn’t get in any legal trouble, and includes local inventories near purchasers.

Now, car purchases online are done all over the USA, with even the major dealerships getting in on the virtual sales floors. Amazon, surprisingly has not touched this marketplace until now. They will be moving forward, next year, with the action of selling Hyundai cars, and in turn Hyundai will begin integrating Alexa into their vehicles as it’s preferred automobile assistant. I imagine you’ll still be able to use your Ciri and Google Assistant through Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

With Amazon rolling out car sales, it’s hard to say if this will remain an exclusive agreement, or if we will see more manufacturers partnering with the marketplace giant. Time will tell.
