Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of July 4, 2025

40 Acres – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

With the world in a post-apocalyptic state, and food scarcity everywhere, a Black family of Canadian farmers descended from American Civil War migrants, led by Danielle Deadwyler, have to defend their home and way of life against a deadly group of people who want to eat their flesh and take their resources.

A horror film with a lot of genres covered. The post-society notes, the cannibals angle, and then mixing in hints of reparations. Looks very interesting.

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

During the filming of the 1070s film, Apocalypse Now, Francis Ford Coppola, strived to make a profound allegory to the Vietnam War, and as he struggles with the film, his wife films his daily struggles with her own camera. Now see the documentary based on her footage.

If you are a fan of the film Apocalypse Now, or film making in general, then you should see this film, if only to get a better understanding of the process it went through.

Jurassic World Rebirth – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Five years after Jurassic World Dominion, Dinosaurs have not found a place to exist in our planet, outside isolated environments. However, when a set of scientists discover that the creatures might just hold the key to a drug that will save humankind, they turn to an explorer, played by Scarlett Johansson, to help them venture into dangerous territory to find it.

With what feels like a closer connection to The Lost World, or at the very least Jurassic Park III, this film taked you into Dinosaur territory on a search and rescue expedition with lofty goals and plans. All in all it looks like a fun and amazing journey for the franchise that continues to excite.

Kill The Jockey – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 92%

Remo, played by Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, is a Jockey who is currently failing out of the sport with his drugs use and debts with the mob. His one shining hope was his girlfriend’s pregnency with his child, but when she finds another lover, he runs off to hide from his debtors.

This is a foreign film, but the comedy and drama elements of this film will pull your eye more then some other films would and frankly looks like a little bit of heavy fun.

Pretty Thing – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A successful executive, played by Alicia Silverstone, begins an affair with a younger man, played by Karl Glusman, however, when he becomes obsessed with her, it takes a dark turn.

While this is a suspenseful film, it is about time we start seeing more films focusing on women finding younger men.
