Since we all love animals… yes, ALL of us… let me share with you my favorite wildlife memes! Well, it’s actually because it’s “National Wildlife Day”, but who doesn’t love a good excuse for animal memes. Or just memes in general. I will get to the meme’s, but first, let’s talk about what this day is about and how we can help these cutie animals.
“National Wildlife Day” was created by Colleen Paige in 2005 in memory of wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin. This day is meant to put a focus on endangered species, preservation, and conservation efforts around the world. Wildlife can be anywhere, at the zoo, in our very own backyard, and other places around the world!
There are many ways to help animals, especially since they need our help. You can donate to or volunteer at an animal facility. Go to a local zoo and feed some animals. You can even learn about the inhabitants near you and implement trusted curriculum and activities to help inspire the next generation of environmentalists (see more here: https://www.nwf.org/Educational-Resources/Educator-Tools)
