Video On Demand Movies For The Week Of March 26, 2020

With the Coronovirus in full swing, and theaters around the world shut down, Movie companies are either pulling their movies from theater lineups, and shoving them down the line. Some studios though are still releasing, but using VOD, or releasing their films from earlier in the year, much sooner. See what awesome movies we have for you to watch this week!

1917 – Releasing 03/24/19
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 89%

Schofield, played by George MacKay, and Black, played by Dean-Charles Chapman, are embroiled within the first World War, at the time called The Great War, but now must embark on a mission that will likely kill them, but could save hundreds, including Blake’s brother.

I am not a fan of the glorification of war, but I am a fan of the showcasing of bravery, and selflessness, a trait that I feel is lost sometimes in modern day. That being said this movie is breathtaking in it’s cinematography.

Bloodshot – Releasing 03/24/20
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 31%

Ray Garrison, played by Vin Diesel, is a soldier who was killed in action. However death does not stop RST corporation from forcibly bringing him back with nanotechnology. However, his life is no longer his own, as RST owns his body, and his mind, changing his memory to force him to perform missions only they approve.

It’s nice to see the Valiant Comics series get into the Cinematic Universe game. This movie is a bad ass r-rated movie, which will open the door for many more characters in the Valiant Comics line up, as they already have a couple more planned. If you’d like to hear more about this, Lindsay has her ”What You Need To Know: Bloodshot” article about it.

The Grudge – Releasing 03/24/20
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 20%

A disgusting murder of an entire family draws a detective, played by Betty Gilpin, to investigate why the mother commited the crime. Unfortunately, its not something that law can prevent, as the vengeful ghost which drew her to the murder, follows her back into her own life.

Speaking of horror movies… The Grudge is back again, for the third time. There were a lot of horror movie releases in January, which is a bit weird but I guess March is better? I’m always happy to see John Cho get work.

Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey – Releasing 03/24/20
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 78%

Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, has got in over her head, while celebrating her recent escape from the clutches from the Joker. Her actions have put her on the radar of the criminal kingpin Black Mask, played by Ewan McGregor. With the help of the Birds of Prey, Huntress, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Black Canary, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell, she will finally get out from underneath of the men who try to put her in her place.

Holy hell, this is the movie people wanted, more then Suicide Squad. Birds of Prey is shaping up to hit all the marks! Hell with an original title of “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” you just know that it is insane. In this movie, we will be getting Batgirl/Black Bat, Zsasz and many more. We can’t wait to see how it plays out!

Human Capital – Releasing 03/20/20
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 68%

A hit in run accident disrupts a business deal, and causes two families to face off against one another, starring a star studded cast of Marisa Tomei, Liev Schreiber, Alex Wolff, Peter Sarsgaard, Maya Hawke, and Paul Sparks.

If you are stuck indoors during the outbreak, to connect with the people left at home, Human Capital decided to release their movie on VOD to give you something suspenseful to watch.
