Rochelle Celebrates “Christmas On The Farm”

Now back in its 3rd year, Christmas on the Farm returns to Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark.

This event may be on a smaller scale than their renowned harvest festival, but there’s still lots of fun to be had!

Along with their usual activities like the wooden train and buses, slides, swings, farm animals. tractor ride and bee train, they offer holiday games like elf academy (basketball), duck racing, spin the wheel, ring a (Christmas) tree, and cookie toss. They even have a station where you can paint your own ornaments, and a station where you can lie in a box of beans. How’s that for sensory play? And don’t forget about all the photo ops with the tire tree and snowman, gingerbread house, snowflake tunnel, and sleigh display.

While food and beverages are limited compared to the Harvest Festival, Mrs Claus Cafe will keep you satisfied. They offer an assortment of sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, nachos, and mini donuts to nosh, and hot chocolate, smoothies and lattes to sip. We tried a dozen of their mini donuts, half powdered sugar and half cinnamon. They are absolutely delicious paired with their hot chocolate to warm the belly.

Visit Santa on the farm on the weekends! He’s there to hear what your little ones want for Christmas. Likewise, kids can write him a letter expressing their Christmas wishes, and mail it to the North Pole from the country market. Other weekend-only offerings are the animal shows, and on select weekends in December expect to see some reindeer!

Lastly, if you’re still looking to put up your Christmas tree, look no further than Big Wave Dave’s for some of the finest trees! I just love walking through the “enchanted forest” as my daughter and I call it, because the smell alone can transport you to all the Christmas feels of the season!

Come check out all that Underwood has to offer this time of year. Now through December 24th!
