Summer is Heating UP! Charmander Community Day Classic!

Hey, Trainers! Who’s ready for another Community Day Classic?

This time we’ve got Charmander. Again. This will be the third Charmander Community Day, the last one taking place in October 2020 as a result of it winning a poll directed at the fans. (So. Y’know. It’s kind of our own fault.) This one will take place Saturday, September 2nd between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time. Will the bonuses be new at least?

  • 3X Stardust awarded for Catches.
  • Lures and Incense launched during event times will last 3 hours.
  • Photobombs!
  • Charmander Pokestop Showcases! This is somewhat new – put your chunkiest Charmander in one of these Showcases to win Stardust, XP and more. (There’s a Badge for winning Showcases.)
  • For $1 or your local equivalent you can take part in a Special Research quest: Charmander Community Day Classic. (Tickets may be gifted to people with whom you are Great Friends or better.)/i>
  • Timed Research will be available between 2:00pm and 5:00pm and will award Charizard Mega Energy and XP.
  • Charmander, Charmander everywhere! Including increased Shiny odds, of course.
  • Evolve your Charmander or Charmeleon all the way to Charizard and it will have two Community Day specific Attacks: Dragon Breath and Blast Burn, fast and Charged Attacks respectively.
  • If you want to look at the Charmander articles that came before, you can do so Here. They contain all the usual Spotlight information you’d expect. The only new information since then is the introduction of Mega Charizard X and Y. They break down fairly simply:

    Mega Charizard X

      Type: Fire/Dragon
      Max CP 4353, Attack 273, Defense 213, Stamina 186

    Mega Charizard Y

      Type: Fire/Flying
      Max CP 5037, Attack 319, Defense 212, Stamina 186

Shiny Charmander is a yellower shade of orange! So is Charmeleon. Be careful shiny-hunting as it can be easy to miss the difference with Charmander. Charizard however gets that sweet black paint job that everyone loves so much!

And that’s all I got for you this time, Trainers! Are you happy to have another shot at snagging a shiny Charmander? Or are you in the “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” camp? Let me know and start a… Flame War in the comments! As always, I wish you the absolute best of luck! Stay cool, stay hydrated and Catch ’em All!
