Welcome back, Trainers! An exciting Community Day is upon us! Not our first Alolan Spotlight star, but a neat one all the same!
The date and time are Saturday the 23rd, 2:00pm till 5:00pm.
Let’s check out those bonuses:
And now, let’s take a look at the star of the show!
Grubbin is the early route Bug Type of Alola. The Pokedex tells us that it sometimes hangs out with Electric Types to avoid its natural predators: bird Pokemon like Hoothoot and Rookidee. It’s a master of its environment, able to not only swing through the trees on lines of strong silk like Spider-Man, but able to use those huge jaws to dig burrows underground.
Charjabug looks like a car battery and a little van all in one. One kind of cool thing about it is that in the anime, Sophocles had one that he’d put in a little car exoskeleton to race against other Charjabug trainers. Not of often the cocoon middle stage bug gets that kind of spotlight!
Charjabug evolves into Vikavolt using a magnetic Lure and 100 Candy. It’s a beast-mode Bug and Electric Type that can use beams of electricity to zap bird Pokemon right out of the sky! If it collects a Charjabug to use as a portable battery, the rate of fire increases!
But can it zap down foes in Pokemon GO?
With a Max CP of 3524, Attack of 254, Defense of 158 and Stamina of 184 it’s an extremely solid Bug Type. It edges out Heracross but is outclassed by all Bug Type Mega Evolutions as well as Genesect, Buzzswole and Golisopod. It’s a Bug/Electric Type meaning it’s weak to Fire and Rock only, and resists Electric, Grass, Fighting and Steel Type attacks.
For Fast Attacks you get Mud Slap, Bug Bite and Spark, the latter two of which are STAB. For Charged Attacks, you get Crunch, X-Scissor and Discharge, the latter two of which are STAB.
Shiny Grubbin has a red face and so is pretty easy to spot!
And that’s all I’ve got for you, Trainers! Be safe, have fun and as always, I’m wishing you the best of luck!
