This year Nickelodeon took over the park next to the Children’s Museum during San Diego Comic-Con with their Fun Flows Here activation. People got to line up around the block to enter the experience and find out what kind of fun was flowing.
Right when you walked in there was a burst of energy from the staff and music. The DJ was spinning his beats with some Nickelodeon inspired music and everyone was dancing and jumping around.
To one side was some gifts from Nickelodeon. You got to get a free SpongeBob Ice Cream to cool you off. There was also people handing out reusable water bottles where you could choose between SpongeBob, Ninja Turtles, or Paw Patrol. They were giving out a free gift which you could choose between a small umbrella or a SpongeBob themed bucket hat. Past all of these there was station where you could receive a jar of slime but not to pour it over someone. You were able to take it to a crafting section where you can put some colorful decorations and mix it into your slime to make it unique. The kids really enjoyed this part and there were some adults helping too.
On the other side of the activation was some photo opportunities, activities, and of course its Nickelodeon so there was sliming. You could take some photos wearing SpongeBob’s pants, fly in the air with Appa and Momo from Avatar, and hold up your award at the Kids Choice Awards. In the middle of the area was someone was drawing sketches for anyone who sat down and wanted one. And past these activities was a booth that you can walk into and get SLIMED! You had the choice of wearing a poncho or take it head on. Either way you got a video of you getting slimed sent to you and looking a little green for the rest of the experience.
Overall this was a very fun activation and friendly to all ages. The energy was high as well as everyone being very friendly and inviting. You also got some appearances from SpongeBob and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. We hope Nickelodeon continued to come back to Comic-Con and help has have a fun time.
