Happy Anniversary To The Creation Of Black Widow!

Black Widow first appeared in Tales of Suspense #52 (1964) in Marvel comics created by Stan Lee, Don Rico, and Don Heck. The iconic character lacked any special suit, or her iconic costume. This Russian agent was a spy, martial artist, sniper, and weilded a ton of powerful weapons including the “Widow’s Bite”.

The art that she is well known for at this time was created by John Romita. This was in 1970, and then lead to her getting her own series called Amazing Adventures. Since then Black Widow has danced around multiple other hero’s series like Daredevil, Avengers, Iron Man, and many more.

In 2010 she joined the major screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was played by Scarlett Johansson in 9 films before concluding her story in Avengers End Game in 2019.

While her character may be gone, there are ripples still felt in the world, and the studio even gave her a stand alone film after her character’s death to explain more of her backstory. With all this in mind, and in celebration of her creation date, we wanted to share some of our favorite comics featuring the amazing spy.
