CES 2023 – Take The Virtual Out Of The Meeting With Wehead!

What is Wehead? That is a question that will sit in your mind for quite some time after you read more of this article. Have you ever wondered what I Robot would have been like if the robots projected a human face on a video screen… what isn’t that what I Robot did? Okay, It’s like I Robot, but just the head, and around the table at a board meeting.

This super cool looking futuristic tech takes a series of smart displays and orients them onto a head facsimile and then tethers that to your actual head in a remote location. In the remote location you could be using a smart phone, laptop, or even a tablet, and by moving your heads in front of the device it will move your head at the tethered location, allowing everyone in the room to be freaked out by the amazing uncanny valley worth of technology humanity is now capable of.

But what is this technology really for? With the representation of a face, and the ability of the device to copy your movements, the Wehead avatar will allow the user and person in presence of the robot head to actually form a more important connection.

Hear me out. When it comes to video screens, humanity has lost a lot of its abilities to interact properly, and a lot of the time office workers and students just zone out until it’s their turn to interact. The Wehead device would allow the user to be able to engage in eye contact, showcase responsive behaviors and allow the other party to feel more connected to the user as they would if they were in the same room.

I won’t lie, there will be some creepiness to overcome at first, but this technology is impressive. The price point however is very high.

The base unit is available for $1,555 with a professional version for sale at $4,555.

As a way to try to get early adopters, the first 100 sold versions will include a number engraving and the minting of a unique NFT for the purchaser in what the company has dubbed the “First 100 Edition.”
