Born David Packard Corenswet on July 8, 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Lower Merion with his older sister and parents who were both actors. Most interestingly though, Corenswet’s grandfather is author Edward Packard, creator of the Choose Your Own Adventure book series.
As a child he followed in his father’s footsteps, as he was a stage actor for years before becoming a Laywer. Corenswet appeared in numerous professional theater productions which continued through his college years. Corenswet attended the University of Pennsylvania for only a year before he transferred to Juilliard. After graduating from Juilliard in 2016, he began guest-starring in television series, before getting a lead roll in the Netflix series The Politician in 2019. He raised to global recognition and prominence thanks to his amazing portrayal of Superman in 2025.
As he is known by many as Superman, we wanted to share our favorite comic books featuring the iconic figure.

All-Star Superman #1 (2005) This is the book series that James Gunn took a lot of inspiration for when making David Corenswet’s version of Superman. In this book we see Superman go toe to toe with Bizarro and Lex Luther, and a reimagining of the story of Superman. |
