The Long Beach Film Festival, a filmmaker-founded festival that is also led by filmmakers, is returning this year. This festival is a great place for people to connect with independent feature films, short films, and partake in industry conversations all in the heart of Long Beach.
While the screenings will take place at the Art Theatre of Long Beach, the Festival will be kicking off tonight with an Opening Night celebration aboard the Queen Mary! While the Long Beach Film Festival is taking place today, August 28, 2026, through August 30, 2026, with a weekend of independent films, they will also feature their new “Nightmares on 4th Street” horror-themed collection of films. Included in this year’s movies are films about killer monsters, deadly dating apps, creepy cults, and movies that cause death. All of these spooky films will be featured in a late-night block!

The show takes place at the Art Theatre of Long Beach and starts on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 9:00 p.m. and will run for 90 minutes.
