Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of May 9, 2025

Clown in a Cornfield – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 93%

Quinn, played by Katie Douglas, was getting a fresh start in a new town, but when they arrive at Kettle Springs, they discover a town failing since their Corn Syrup factory burned down. This wont be the only tragedy to befall the town, as Frendo the Clown emerges from the cornfield and begins to murder village members one by one.

Cornfields, Clowns, and murder, who could ask for more with a horror film. The movie seems so far to get some pretty good reviews. I know we are halfway to Halloween, but maybe this will help start getting you in the mood.

Fight or Flight – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

When Agent Lucas Reyes, played by Josh Hartnett, is given one chance to come home from exiled, he jumps at the chance, but tracking down a mysterious and hidden target before the flight lands in San Francisco may have been harder then he thought. Specifically, when the plane seems to be filled with assassins.

I’ve seen almost this exact plot from the TV series Person of Interest, but that was awesome and fun, and I love Josh Hartnett, so lets go!

Friendship – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 93%

Craig, played by Tim Robinson, is having a hard time. He is lonely, and his wife suggests he hangs out with the charismatic neighbor. The neighbor, played by Paul Rudd, brings Craig into his inner circle. While they have a ton of fun, and seem to hit it off fast, when the relationship fails, Craig takes it too far.

This looks like a long sketch of “I Think You Should Leave” which I’m all for. It’s listing itself as a comedy, but feels like it has some serious thriller and dark vibes. Comedians rock at drama, so I’m excited to see this film.

Shadow Force – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

After breaking the rules of their secret multination special forces group Kyrah and Isaac, played by Kerry Washington and Omar Sy, choose their life of love, and a son, over their jobs. Now their very same organization is hunting them down. Can the family keep themselves and t heir child safe?

Very agressive, spy soldiers turn tales for themselves, and are hunted for it is pretty standard, but adding a child into the mix makes it a bit more interesting. I wonder how it will end up working out, but we will have to see.

Tall Tales – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A fairy tale for the modern world that tells stories of Kings and Queens, Rising Tides, Robotic Arms, and logistics. An interesting look at what would be a fairy tale with modern inspirations.

This is from Executive Producer Thom Yorke with the help of Australian visual artist Jonathan Zawada. It looks interesting, but at this time I still can’t make heads or tails over it.
