Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of June 9, 2023

Devilreaux – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

When teens go missing, Detective Bobbie Briggs, played by Krista Grotte Saxon, is forced to investigate a tail of one of the survivors that puts her into the path of Devilreaux, played by Vincent M. Ward. However can Briggs take down an undead shovel-wielding monster, or with they struggle to survive in his wake.

Looking for a mid-year horror. This film looks interesting enough. I’ve always been a fan of Papa Midnight figures in movies. I am interested to see how this one does!

Flaming Hot – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming a Week Later
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 68%

Telling the story of Richard Montañez, played by Jesse Garcia, as he went from the janitor at Frito Lay, to being the creator of an iconic treat!

Have you ever wondered about the history of Flaming Hot Cheetos? Well now is your chance to watch this funny and informative film! So much casual racism… ah, must be the 90s!

Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

To get the chance to be human, a mermaid princess will make a bargain with a sea witch to be human.

I don’t know if this was done to capitalize on Disney’s advertisement, to fight the fact that the character was racially swapped, or in earnest, but I swear if the movie doesn’t end with the Little Mermaid not being with Eric, and commiting suicide by turning into seafoam, then why even make it. Also… spoiler alert for an 187 year old book.

Mending The Line – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Colter, played by Sinqua Walls, is a Marine from Afghanistan who after being wounded is sent to a V.A. hospital where he meets Ike, played by Brian Cox, a Vietnam Vet. Their bond helps them heal and deal with their emotional and physical trauma.

If you are looking for a more dramatic movie this week, with all the fighting robots, and spicy food films, then this one is probably more for you. Also, we love Brian Cox. He is amazing.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

As the Transformers look for new allies to help them with their enemies in the battle for Earth, they will turn to a new faction of machines, in the Maximals.

Having spent a lot of my youth in love with Transformers: Beast Wars, I am really interested in this film, and outside of Bumblebee, probably one of the only types of Transformer movie that could get me back into the franchise!
