Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of September 29, 2023

57 Seconds – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

When a tech blogger, played by Josh Hutcherson, discovers a time-altering machine, he sees a chance to rewrite the past. However, after altering time against the corporation that destroyed his family, he notices that every decision has a consequence.

Who doesn’t love a Sci-Fi time travel story. I love butterfly effect and time ripple stories. I can’t wait to see how Hutcherson does at the helm.

The Blind – Releasing in Limited Theaters

Set in the 1960s, before his days in Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson, played by Aron Von Andrian, fell in love with Miss Kay, played by Amelia Eve. Before he could build the life, you know from the reality TV show, he had to deal with his shameful past, and build the world that his fans are familiar with.

I’m not a fan of Duck Dynasty, but I am sure there are plenty still out there that would want to see more about this figure’s past.

The Creator – Releasing in Theaters

During a future war where humans and artificial intelligence struggle for superiority, Joshua, played by John David Washington, must infiltrate AI territory to destroy a weapon before it ends the world. The combination of his grief over the disappearance of his wife, and the form of the weapon being a child places him in a bind.

You may have seen their recent stunt of sending out fake robots to sporting events recently. Not a great stunt, but the movie is still interesting enough to tickle my Sci-Fi drive.

Flora And Son – Releasing in Limited Theaters and Streaming A Week Later
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 96%

Flora, played by Eve Hewson, never wanted to be a mother, especially to a rebellious teenage son, played by Orén Kinlan. When she tries to encourage him into music, Flora and he bound over the music, and begin to bond and connect in a way never seen before between them.

It is a painful journey of the struggles of parenting, and a great supportive performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the man supporting Flora and introducing her into the world of music.
