Movies For The Week Of May 10, 2024

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 – Releasing in Limited Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 54%

When five women leave for a hike, but only four returns, a detective, played by Eric Bana, must find out what happened, which is made more difficult when all four of the women that returned tell an entirely different story.

If you like suspense triller and mystery stories, then this might be the right story to hold your attention this week. While the ratings aren’t great, Eric Bana doesn’t usually phone in any performance.

The Image Of You – Releasing in Limited Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Two identical sisters, played by Sasha Pieterse, decide to test the bonds with one of the sister’s signifigant other, Nick, played by Parker Young. When they play the game, they get more then they are expecting and are pulled into a dark game.

This is probably not the most interesting suspense story this week, but if you like romance thrillers, then this might be an interesting watch for you this week.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 87%

Continuing the story set generations in the future, apes are now the dominant species with humans treated more like chattle and more animal like in behavior. However, when one human begins to speak, it causes one such ape to question what the future of the two species will be.

This series continues, but it’s ratings seems to be still solid. That being said I can’t imagine the bubble will be able to keep running. They have made way to many films within this franchise that it might begin to rival how many spin off movies the original made.

The Last Stop In Yuma County – Releasing in Limited Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 96%

When bank robbers arrive to a Arizona rest stop, the people there must try to survive a drastic hostage situtation as the criminals will do what ever they can to escape the law and won’t mind spilling even more blood to keep their stollen goods.

Much more intense of a situation, and a higher rated movie then Force of Nature, this one might be a bitt to brutal, but looks to be a good watch this week.

Not Another Church Movie – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

When a talk show host uses a direct connection to God, played by Jamie Foxx, to save her failing show the two turn to Taylor Pherry, played by Kevin Daniels, a play on Tyler Perry, to make a film to save them from failure. However, when the devil, played by Mickey Rourke, finds out, he makes his own plan.

While this is a spoof movie, I don’t know how interesting this film will be. It stars Jamie Fox and Mickey Rourke, but it looks a little bit of a razzy film as opposed to a solid comedy.
