Nerd Out: April 2022

Everyone is out there pretending that COVID isn’t a thing anymore, but before you go out and have fun, it’s imortant to know what precautions are being taken and how safe events are. If you need some out-of-the-house experiences we’ve taken that into consideration with our article showing off some safer options.

Before we go into the details of the events, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on ”If You Should Go Out” Here. In keeping with our promise within that article though, each event we are talking about will have an Is It Safe section discussing steps taken by the organization to keep the attendees safe. Please consider that though before making your ticket purchases.

Some of the cool things going on this month are:


Klimt: The Immersive Experience Available in Montebello through June 24th 2022.

For fans of Gustav Klimt, it’s an easy statement to say he was the greatest artistic genius at the turn of the twentieth century, but even his largest fans will be shocked and intrigued by “Klimt: The Immersive Experience.” This experience makes you feel as if you’ve entered his unique perspective, and you get to see the world of his brushstrokes thanks to an impressive unique 360 virtual reality experience. Learn about his life, career, and secrets never shared before.

Is It Safe?
The event is in person, but the event space is requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 result. Additionally, masks must be worn at all times, but we still highly recommend you get vaccinated before attending.

Dinos Alive Exhibit Available in Montebello throughout June 19th 2022.

Dinos Alive is a dinosaur exhibition featuring life-size animated replicas in an immersive Jurassic venue. Walk alongside the massive creatures that roamed our world millions of years ago! At the event, they’ll have over 80 specimens of life-sized and moving dinosaurs including:

    T-rex, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Pachycephalosaurus, Suchomimus, Velociraptors, Gorgosaurus, and many more!

They even have a virtual aquarium exhibit so that the often left-out sea creatures of yesteryear can be front and center to attendees. The whole experience will take around an hour and a half.

The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience Available in Los Angeles through June 12, 2022.

Taking place at the beautiful Biltmore hotel, fans of the world of Bridgerton can truly enter the world of the show. Enjoy period appropriate performances, dancing, drinks and a world unique to the time period of Bridgerton.

Is It Safe?
The Biltmore is a great location that regularly requires Masks and Vaccinations for their venue events, regardless of Los Angeles or California’s mandates. So if you are vaccinated and looking for some fun, then you will be feeling safe here.

The Brick Bar Pop-Up Available in Los Angeles Coming to Los Angeles April 29th, 2022.

If you are a fan of Legos, then this probably wont be a hard sell for you. The Brick Bar is returning to Los Angeles.

This event in the past has traditionally been a 21 and older event, specifically for the children who grew up. The event in the past has included drinks and even themed food, but varies by location. One thing that is guaranteed though is a ton of building blocks, photo-ops, and even prizes!

Is It Safe?
Unfortunately the details of the event are not clear at this time. Usually the event is indoors though so with mask mandates gone, and vaccinations un-needed, the likelihood of this being a high risk event is high.
