Rochelle Stops By Bob Marley’s One Love Experience!

Fans of Bob Marley, now is your chance to journey through his life and legacy at the Bob Marley: One Love Experience at the Ovation in Hollywood.

“One Love! One Heart! Let’s get together and feel alright!” His message definitely gets across here. With over 15,000 square feet, the exhibit honors the Rastafarlan icon by showcasing his childhood in Jamaica, his influences and passions, and of course his musical legacy that incorporates his cultural legacy of One Love, his message of positivity and hope to the world. The journey is like a joy ride, starting in the Music Room where he is honored with one of the largest vinyl records in the world alongside his hit records. The One Love Forest and Draw Garden Room will make you feel alright, and puts you into a tranquil state for sure.

I could just sit here for hours and reflect. Maybe it was the large joint having an effect on me, but it was truly transporting, especially with his feel-good music as the soundtrack. This room was my favorite, complete with swing and bean bag chairs. From there your journey continues to the Silent Disco at Soul Shakedown Studio where you wear some headphones and can dance like no one’s watching silently on your own, followed by the 1973 Studio Recording with Capitol Records. This footage was lost for 30 years, but this is the only place you can watch the entire 90-minute piece. Travel further to the Beautiful Life Zone, where you can see other passions of his like soccer and other games like foosball, dominoes, and ping pong. There is also a juke box so you can pick the song of your choice. This space felt very much like home. I wanted to just hang out with friends here. Next is a lot of beautiful artwork on walls presented in graffiti-style art honoring his image. The last space encapsulates his message of One Love with a tree at the center of the room. Here you can write your own message of One Love and hang it on the tree. I’m always a fan of leaving my own notes behind and reading others’ positive messages. The journey ends in the gift shop where you can purchase all sorts of memorabilia like apparel, posters, vinyl records and music.

This is certainly a multi-sensory exhibit not to be missed. It is immersive, not to mention there are so many photo opps everywhere you look! While it’s a roughly 40-50 minute experience, you can surely stay longer and learn things about Bob Marley you never knew before. I’d surely love to stay just to listen to his music all day long and to absorb the positive vibes that this experience leaves you with! I have always been a fan of his but I have a new appreciation for him.
