Rochelle Stops By Delusion: Nocturnes and Nightmares

Fans of Delusion won’t want to miss this year’s show, “Delusion: Nocturnes and Nightmares”.

Since 2011, fans have been captivated by the visceral, haunted stories written by the author, but this year is a little different and offers an ensemble of some of the series favorite, or most iconic, characters. Vampire brides, the detective, the alchemist, Manny Manners, and more! The adventure starts with you searching for The Author, the woman who’s penned these Delusion stories year after year. Follow the pipes and they lead to your next chapter of the book as you become a character within the pages themselves. Find out what happened to The Author and what her new agenda is, which allows her to bring these horror stories to life.

While there are the usual find-and-read-then-do tasks there are a lot of other interactions as well with the actors, and the acting itself is top-notch as always. Everything from the sound design and special effects to the costumes and set design, was incredible from top to bottom. I can see why this series each year keeps being called “King of Horror” in LA. There’s nothing like it, because the immersion is second to none.

This will be the last year Delusion will be at the Philips Mansion in Pomona. So this year you can explore all three levels.

On the first floor you will meet Esther Philips herself, and fan favorite Manny Manners. Don’t be afraid to let them share some secrets with you if you spend enough time chatting them up!

On the second floor, you can observe the TV Room where a family of puppets are glued to the tube. Marion’s Chamber Bar is the place to get a cocktail and be entertained by a master of puppets who could also allow you to make the stringed puppets on the ceiling dance. Across the way is The Dark Arts Theatre, a space for magicians to showcase their magic. You can also brave a walk up to the attic if you dare! An incantation summons forth a Spectre who will tell you more secrets about the delusion.

The VIP experience this year is a little different than previous years. With this special pass, guests are invited to a private room where they can see behind the scenes and opt in to playing a part in the show. Wander the Parlour Room and Dining Room for photo ops or to connect with other guests. The Study is where merch is available for purch. If you’re hungry or need a toilet, head to the back to the Garden Bar.

We’re really looking forward to where Delusion will be moving to next year, and what new stories will be told!
