Wagmor Pets founder, Melissa Bacelar, created this non-profit 501c3 organization specifically to rescue and find homes for dogs. Melissa started bringing pets home to take care of them as a child, and when she moved to California in 2003 she started helping shelters while foster strays. When her second son was coming, she realized fostering dogs at her home wasn’t an option. It was then that she purchased a dog hotel and opened The Wagmor. While this allowed her more options to help pets, and their owners, she didn’t open Wagmor Pets until 2020, just in time for the Pandemic.
Over the course of the first 18 months of its non-profit organization, she rescued over 4,000 dogs!
Coming this weekend though, on February 12, 2022, Wagmor Pets is hosting their “Puppy Love” adoption event.
This is in celebration of the always loved Puppy Bowl, and the love-centric holiday of Valentine’s Day.
The event will run from 12:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. in Valley Village!
If you want to attend, the adoption event will take place at their store:
12508 Magnolia Blvd, Valley Village, CA 91607
During the event, there will be live music, food trucks, and puppies to fall in love with. Check out the dogs available for adoption on Instagram Here. During the event you can even participate in a “kissing booth” so you can take photo ops with the dogs.
Admission for the event includes a suggested $10 donation, with proceeds go to Wagmor Pets so they can help homeless pups with medical bills as well as helping them find their furever homes.
As a bonus, all the dogs at the event that are available for adoption will have been vaccinated and underwent a wellness exam. If they haven’t been spayed/neutered or microchipped, adopters at the event will receive a voucher to have those items performed free of charge.
