SDCC 2019 – IMDBoat Docked in San Diego!

Every year IMDb brings their awesome boat into the harbor for San Diego Comic Con, and this year was no exception.

The boat is highly noticeable with their logos adorn, and the big screen built above it.

They use the rather large screen on top of the boat to showcase the exclusive panels/interviews that they host on the ship, moderated by Kevin Smith.

Serious it’s easily become a fan-favorite of the convention. What a lot of fans don’t know, is that you can actually get on the IMDboat, without being a big celebrity. I will admit though, you don’t get to be interviewed by Kevin Smith.

From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day that the boat is at the convention (Thursday through Saturday), the good people at IMDb allow fans to “Come Aboard!” To get that ability is not hard, you just have to wait in line for the most part. Some people line up very early. Also, it can be quite a lot of line. Past the line, admittance to the boat is limited by the capacity of the boat.

The crew only letting new people onto the boat, when old people leave.

However, if/when you get on the boat, you’ll be treated to the IMDboat lounge. No, you do not get to go upstairs to where Kevin Smith interviews people like Kristen Bell.

Once inside the lounge you will get treated to a nice selection of snacks, treats and some amazing demonstrations by some vendors. They had comixology and Amazon Fire demonstrating their apps and products to to guests of the boat.

If you were lucky enough to attend the boat on Saturday Marvel, IMDb, and Ben & Jerry’s were all working together to give fans quite the treat… literally. For the “We love you 3000” tour, Marvel and Ben & Jerry’s created the Marvel Universe’s “Hunka Hunka of Burning Hulk” renamed “The Ultimate Hulk Sunday”.

If you didn’t make it on the boat, or convention, this year, then make sure to check out IMDb’s coverage of the event Here, or make sure to get in line early next year!
